I am trying to make a myspace for my friends band. I am familar with myspace, and when you want to paste your link for a layout you usually do it in about me, Where do I place it in the bands profile. Its set up differently then a regular myspace. i just had the same problem, someone else answered this and it did work for me- they said:

"Just put in a music player.... like from a band on myspace.

Then click the "delete" button on the music player and it'll take you to a page where you can delete your music player and that video."

Be sure to delete the Video 1st, then the music player-song. Both should clear out after that =)

I have a myspace even thought I'm not supposed too. I don't think it's dangerous as long as you're smart about it. set your profile to private so only your friends can view it and don't accept friend requests from anyone you don't know and you shouldnt have anything to worry about. You're parents are right to be concerned because of all the bad stories out there but as long as they trust you they should let you get one. Let them occasionally look on it to make sure they approve.

I think myspace and facebook are one in the same. So it makes no difference which one you decide to use. You can set a myspace to private so only your friends can see your page. Don't post private information about yourself. Such as where you hang out. Add people you know. Don't post pictures of yourself in a provocative manner. That will attract the wrong type of people.

When i go to myspace i log in and then i try to go somewhere like to add people because i just signed up yesterday, and need to get started, and i need to know how to get to the thing with Yahoo Address Book where you can find out if your friends have a myspace, and it found 8 people but how do i get back to it?

But the problem is when i get to a page a box comes up and says IExplorer has caused an error and will now close, and then you can click the X or click Close, but either way the page goes away, then i can get it up again, but the same thing keeps happening, and im not able to do anything on the site. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

Theres your problem, Explorer is god awful. Just download Firefox its free and its the best. If you Have your Friends Email address that they use for Myspace just copy their address and paste it in the Myspace search bar and click on their profile then click on the Add button in their contact box.

I've noticed something on Myspace lately; sometimes i'll get new picture comments or normal comments and i'll read them; then it'll still say i have new comments.

people have told me to delete my cookies; but that doesn't seem to work.

If I understand everything correctly...just take a picture of the Excel Spreadsheet (print screen picture) [ctrl + alt + prnt scrn] and then paste it into a Paint Document.

Then just crop the image so that all you see is the spreadsheet, if that is what you want to show.

Then upload that picture to a site like

photobucket.com and then you will have a link to the image that people can look at.

Just copy the link and paste it in the bulletin section you are posting.

OK, well maybe if you create a folder in the "My Documents" folder (or wherever you have the excel file saved). Call the folder whatever you want. (Myspace Excel Bulletin). Then if you copy the address of the folder (example: C:\Documents and Settings\Josh\My Documents\My Pictures) and paste that in the bulletin.

That might work, and then when they click on it, it will open that folder, which is why you only have 1 folder in there so they wont look at any other stuff you have there.

The address that I was talking about is in the same place as a regular web address would be. If you have the folder open, look under the "File" "Edit" "View", etc. drop down menus and there should be an address bar. Copy that and then try it!

Somehow it has to work, because if you open Internet Explorer, and then paste the folder link (c:documents...) in the address bar, it will take you to the folder. At least it does for me.

i had a friend on myspace and all of a sudden i went to check her profile out but it said it was set on private and only friends could see it. she's no longer on my friends list... i didn't delete her, and her and i are cool so i see no reason why she would've deleted me.

I just e-mailed my sister this past week because I went to my 14 year old nieces page and noticed that she had her FULL name and where she went to school on her page. My sister and her husband have a really rare surname, so finding them using the name, city and high school would be a snap.

In PA 4 teen girls' families are filing lawsuits against Myspace.com because they were sexually abused by adults they met on the site. The parents argument is that "Myspace should have better security measures to effectively increase the safety of its underage users." Its sad the girls were sexually abused, but do yall really believe its Myspaces' fault for the parents not monitoring their kids on the computer? I wanna know yalls thoughts/opinions on this...

as a parent, much as i want to make sure that my kids can only have access to safe activities, i know that is not how the world is. the real world will always have evil in it. it happens even in places we feel they are safest at -- i.e. schools, churches, etc. i cannot put blame on these places if my kids went to it and something bad happened. for one, we should, as much as we could, teach the kids how to protect themselves. at the risk of sounding insensitive...i disagree with the parents' argument on that.

No, it is not Myspace's fault. On myspace if you are not a certain age your profile is set to private. Nobody can view it unless you add them to your friend's list. You can also go as far as not even accepting friend's requests from people unless they know your last name or email address. I hate how parents are always trying to blame somebody else. Why aren't they monitoring what their children are doing on the internet? Why are they letting their children meet adults they met on the internet? Don't blame a website because you failed to be a parent and protect your child. When I was that age I wouldn't DARE meet somebody online. My parents knew nothing about a computer. They trusted me to be safe online and I was. The did not physically monitor everything I did online but they raised me better than to meet strangers from the internet.

Question for MySpace musicians... How do I upload more tracks onto my MySpace music page??

I already have 4 of my own productions that i uploaded when i made my music account. But now i want to change the tracks. As in, upload new ones and delete the old ones. I went into EDIT PROFILE and the only option i get is to change the SONG AND VIDEO ON PROFILE. I clicked this, but this only allows me to take songs from another artist's page. I am definitely a MySpace music account holder cause I've uploaded my own tracks from my hard drive directly to myspace already....

Firstly, check that you do have a music myspace. Click on edit profile, and the 1st page you see should say "Music%26gt;%26gt; Edit upcoming shows" on the left and "view band profile" on the right.

Once you have confirmed that this is the case, then click on the "manage songs" TAB.

Then, your current songs will be placed on the right, with Edit, delete commands etc.. and the available options will be on the left.

If i were you i would delete the current songs, and just upload entirely new ones. The edit song function is designed to edit the title, image etc... not the file.

Also a neat trick to get more tracks on there is this.

Myspace says you can put up 4 tracks, but they dont say how long they can be. String multiple tracks together using a simple sound editor, and you will be able to get hours of music on your myspace page if you want.

if you view the properties, you notice that the image width is 260, which corresponds to one of these statements:

you are changing the width of every img that falls into those table hierarchies to 260px wide.

I don't think myspace is bad at all. It's a good way to keep in contact with your friends and meet new friends. Of course it's a way to attract those perverts or sex offenders, but not if you set your profile to 'private'. =) And you don't have to add the people if you don't want to. I don't think myspace is bad; however, I think that like anything, Myspace has its risks. I just e-mailed my sister this past week because I went to my 14 year old nieces page and noticed that she had her FULL name and where she went to school on her page. My sister and her husband have a really rare surname, so finding them using the name, city and high school would be a snap.

Whether kids want to admit it or not, they are very trusting and easy to manipulate. They need to be extra diligent about keeping their private information off of their page. This also applies to ANYWHERE they go on the internet.

Well I've got some good news for you. They cannot view your profile unless they're your friend because you have it set to private. When you're 14, people over 15 cannot view it without YOU requesting them as a friend first, so I doubt they even saw it.

Besides, even if they did, they need to get a clue about the norms of the Internet these days .. there's nothing wrong with posting a pic like that .. as long as it isn't excessively nude or anything .. Good luck to you.

This kinda happened to me cept it wasn't with a picture. This boy was commenting me and saying as my brother would put it "innapropriate" things to me. My brother is 19. He told my dad, then my mom, then my other brother, then everyone on my dad's side and some on my mom's. It really pissed me off. Everyone acted like I did something wrong or I was a slut. My advice to act like you did nothing wrong and blame it on your family for being over protective. Use the guilt trip about how you're old enough to make your own decisions and it was just a picture. Also if someone's not your friend they can still view your default pic so I wouldn't have that as default. I would have it in a friends only album. Hope that helped.
